Tags
Tag one file or a whole selection, then filter the library by tag.
Tags are your own organisation, sitting alongside folders and quick views. Every file can carry any number of them, and they feed the search index — a file you tagged reference comes up when you type "ref".
Tagging a file
Select a file and open the Info lens in the right panel. Under Tags, hit + Tag, type a name and press Enter. As you type, existing tags are suggested so you don't end up with three spellings of the same idea. Tag names are case-insensitive: "Ref" and "ref" are the same tag.
Tagging many files at once
Select several files — the Info lens shows the tags across the whole selection. A solid chip means every selected file carries that tag; a hollow chip like 3/8 means only some do, and clicking it applies the tag to all of them. That is the fast way to make a batch consistent.
You can also right-click any selection and use the Tags submenu: existing tags toggle with a checkmark, and New Tag… asks for a name.
Finding things by tag
Tags appear in the sidebar under Tags, ordered by how much you use them, with a count each. Click one to filter the whole library to those files; click again to clear it. Tags are also part of ordinary search, so you rarely need the sidebar at all.
Removing and renaming
Hover a chip and click the × to take the tag off the selected files. When the last file loses a tag, the tag itself disappears from the sidebar — no housekeeping needed.
