Portable Canvas recipes
Save a chain, export or copy its JSON, and apply it with a new reference.
A recipe stores processing steps, prompts, model settings and connections. It does not contain input images, generated files, API keys or a complete board.
Save a chain
- Select a step, branch or section on Canvas.
- Open Canvas options and choose Save recipe.
- Name the recipe. It appears in Add → Saved.
Connected text notes are folded into prompts. A recipe currently supports one shared external image source; separate reference images cannot silently be replaced by one input.
Apply it
Select the new input image or source step, open Add → Saved and choose the recipe. Generation-only recipes can also start without an image. New steps retain relative layout and settings, with fresh IDs and no old outputs. Nothing runs until you choose Run.
Export and import
On a saved recipe, choose Export for a JSON file or Copy JSON for its text. On another installation, use Import recipe in Add → Saved and choose the exported file. The recipient supplies their own reference image, local models and provider keys. Importing adds to the library, rather than running a generation.
Limits and validation
A recipe file can contain up to 50 steps and must fit within 1 MB. The saved library supports up to 100 recipes and 5 MB. Export or delete recipes before exceeding a library limit. Invalid formats, unsupported versions, cycles and missing connections are rejected before they change the board. Duplicate names receive a new name on import.
What stays separate
Recipes do not preserve section layouts, independent note blocks, output history or multiple image assets. Use PNG export for a visual board overview and keep the source files with your project.
