Surf Flow — voice dictation

Hold a key, talk, get cleaned text — transcribed on-device.

Surf Flow turns speech into clean text anywhere you type. Transcription runs on-device with a Whisper model — your audio never leaves the Mac.

How to dictate

Hold the configured key (default Fn), talk, release. A small island shows live status as it listens and transcribes; the cleaned text is pasted where your cursor is.

Cleanup

By default Surf Flow does a minimal clean — it strips fillers and common dictation hallucinations (e.g. trailing "subtitle" artifacts) deterministically, without rewriting your words. Optional formal / official styles use a local LLM to polish into well-formed prose.

Languages

Set the dictation language in Settings → Dictation, or leave it on auto-detect.

Grant Microphone (and, for paste-anywhere, Accessibility) permission — there are direct links in Settings → Dictation.
