Motion — animate your images
Pick images, pick a template, export a loop. 200+ parametric templates, 70+ controls, real easing curves, 4K and alpha.
Motion turns pictures from your library into finished animation loops. It is parametric, not timeline-based: you pick a template, drag the parameters, and the preview you are watching is the export — the same scene renders both, frame for frame.
Pick a template
The left column browses 29 families and 200-odd variants — carousels, orbits, wheels, page-flipping magazines, vortex spirals, globes, bento walls, split-flaps, droste zooms, and clouds of hundreds of cards you fly through. Hover any card and it plays its loop live, drawn in code. Arrow keys step through variants, Space plays and pauses.
Shape it
The Scene column shows only the parameters the current family actually uses — and there are over seventy of them across the set. Each control is a drag-pill: drag to scrub, double-click to type an exact value.
- Layout — count (up to 500), plane size, spacing, orbit radius, columns, lanes, camera distance and perspective, rotations, offsets, cycle degrees.
- Card treatment — Image Fit (Fit keeps each source's aspect; Fill crops every card to one Card Aspect, so a mixed library reads as a set), Tilt with four styles, Size Mix, Mirror, single-sided, Face camera, and No repeat.
- Timing — duration, cycles, delay, Hold (park the loop at the end), Visible (light only N cards at once).
- Family shaping — cloud depth, pan range and atmosphere for Proximity; turns for the spiral; gravity, friction, bounce and spin for the drop; feather for the wipe; sweep for the frame wall; breath for the grid; spine and light for the magazine.
Reset puts the template back to its own settings. Shuffle explores around them — it moves only the rows this family exposes, stays inside each control's limits, and leaves the things that would wreck the shot alone.
Easing is a real bezier editor with draggable handles and two preset books (Defaults and Classic). Every template starts on its own curve.
Direction, Axis and Solo (spotlight one image at a time) sit above it. Motion switches a carousel, wheel or ring between smooth Continuous travel and Stepped — a click-wheel that holds on each card and snaps to the next. The 3D ring can bend its cards onto a Curved surface, and Flicker's cuts can pace Even or Accelerating. Wheel and Stories can also show a full-bleed hero image of whatever is currently fronted.
Dress it
The right column adds what makes it a finished piece: Background (solid, gradient with your own stops, an image from the library, or None for transparency), Text overlays with six bundled fonts, a Logo in any corner, and an Audio track that is mixed into the export. Assets come from your library — no uploading.
Export
- MP4 — H.264 with AAC audio, 1080p or 4K.
- WebM — VP9 with a real alpha channel, for the web.
- MOV — ProRes 4444 with alpha, for editors.
- GIF — 15 fps, 720 px, transparency preserved.
Alpha formats and GIF render frame by frame (they take a moment), and everything lands straight in your library under Create/Motion. MP4 has no alpha channel — for a transparent background, use WebM, MOV or GIF.
Projects
“Save to project” stores the whole look — template, every parameter, background, texts, logo, format and quality. The Projects tab keeps them with a preview, and you can rename (double-click), duplicate or delete any of them.
