Where Adobe Photoshop fits
Adobe lists Generative Fill, Expand, background generation and other AI tools, including supported partner models, alongside its image-editing workflow. Official reference.
Choose Photoshop for precise retouching, selections, masks, layered compositions and established image-production workflows.
Where OY.Surf fits
OY.Surf is useful before and around the detailed edit: inspect references, generate or instruction-edit a direction, compare results and run finishing steps.
A practical workflow
Explore branches in OY.Surf, take the selected file into Photoshop for detailed compositing, and browse the exported result with the rest of the project.
What to check before switching
OY.Surf does not replace Photoshop’s layers, masks, selections, color management or complete format support. Instruction editing is not the same as precise layered editing.
Local processing and cloud choices
OY.Surf’s library and on-device tools work locally. AI models download when needed. Choosing a cloud provider sends the request’s prompt and selected reference to that provider using your key; its charges and policies apply. Adding a key does not upload your library automatically.
The Mac app is free while in beta. This is not a promise of permanent pricing, model-quality parity or a replacement for every feature above. Check the other product’s current plans on its official site.
