Nothing is promised for the next release yet. The next cards come from Planned.
Roadmap
What we’re building next, what we’re weighing, and what OY.Surf can’t do yet. No dates. It ships when it’s good.
SHIPPED WORK IS CAPTURED FROM THE APP. PLANNED WORK IS WRITTEN DOWN, BECAUSE IT DOESN’T EXIST YET.

Decided, being built in this order
Studio
Markers, chapters and finer editing
Long tutorials become easy to navigate.
Mark moments on the timeline, split a long take into chapters, duplicate a segment and trim the audio on its own. Stepping through a take from the keyboard, a thirtieth of a second or a whole second at a time, already works.
Studio
Edit a take by its transcript
Cut a talking-head demo as fast as you edit text.
The transcript becomes the timeline: delete a sentence and the video cuts with it, and ums and uhs come out automatically. Today Studio transcribes a take for its captions only.
Studio
Zoom to what you're talking about
Zooms that follow what you mean, not just where you click.
Say "this line-height" and the zoom lands on that exact element, found by reading the text on screen. Today zooms follow your clicks.
Studio
Suggested edits for a take
A first cut in seconds.
Studio reads a take and proposes zooms, cuts, speed ramps and chapters as a suggested edit you can accept or change.
Studio
Search inside your recordings
Your takes become an archive you can search.
Each take is indexed by what you said and what was on screen, so "the clip where I changed the grid" jumps straight to that moment.
Library, Lenses & Search
Hide files and folders from AI
Keep client work and private folders out of every model.
One flag on a file or folder that the on-device AI and your connected agents both respect.
Library, Lenses & Search
Search by an exact colour
Brand-colour hunts in one step.
Pick a colour and find the images whose palette comes closest to it. Today search filters by colour family: warm, cool, or black and white.
Library, Lenses & Search
Batch rename and batch export
Name and deliver a whole set at once, not file by file.
Rename a selection of files with one naming pattern, and export many files from the Library in one pass to a folder you choose. On a Canvas board you can already convert, compress or Smart-resize a whole selection of images at once; the results land in your Create folder.
Library, Lenses & Search
Metadata that travels with your files
Tags and ratings survive a move, a sync or a new Mac.
Optional sidecar files next to your folders, so tags and ratings survive a move or a sync. Today they live in OY.Surf's own database on your Mac.
Library, Lenses & Search
Better PDF to Markdown for tables and long documents
Specs, reports and brand books you can search and quote.
The Doc lens turns PDFs into Markdown today, up to 30 pages per run and one page at a time. Next, dense tables and layouts come out cleaner, and long documents are read in one pass instead of page by page.
Make
Click to cut out, click to remove
Precise edits without a masking tool.
Click an object to select it, then cut it out or remove it from the photo, on your Mac. It builds on the one-step background removal you have today.
Make
Open a board in a tab
Move between a board and your files without losing your place.
Tabs hold folders and files today, and a board takes over the whole window. Next, a board opens in a tab of its own, next to the rest.
Make
Watermark in bulk
Proofs and previews go out marked, without another app.
Put your watermark on a whole selection of images in one step. It already appears in Settings › Skills, marked as coming soon.
Make
Realistic phone, tablet and monitor models, and printed apparel
Product shots that hold up next to a real photo.
In Mockups the laptop, T-shirt, cap, mug and can are detailed models today, while the phone, tablet and monitor are simple shapes. Next come realistic phone, tablet and monitor models, and apparel where your print follows the fabric.
Make
Your own fonts in Motion, and more controls
Motion pieces that stay on brand.
Set text in Motion in your own typefaces, and get finer control over how each animation repeats and when it starts.
Make
Open shared design systems as boards
Start from a ready-made system instead of a blank board.
A design system opened from Supply arrives in OY.Surf as a note today. Next, it opens as a board, with its colours laid out as swatches.
Speak
Tell speakers apart in call recordings
Meeting notes that say who said what.
Call recording keeps two tracks today: you, and everyone on the call. Next, it separates the people on the call side.
Speak
Math that renders as you type
Write formulas without switching to the preview.
Math already renders in the note preview and in chat. Next, it renders inside the editor as you type, and shows its source again when your cursor returns to it.
iPad & iPhone
Ink that moves with the image it's drawn on
Markups stay attached to what they mark.
Draw over an image or a note with Apple Pencil, then move it, and the ink moves with it. Today strokes stay where you drew them.
iPad & iPhone
Browse your whole library on iPad
Your references within reach, away from the desk.
The iPad app is built around boards today. Next, it opens your library too, so you can browse your folders and files, not just boards.
iPad & iPhone
Camera and scanner capture on iPhone and iPad
Capture what's in front of you, and find it later by what's in it.
Photograph or scan references and products, and they land in your library already described. Importing from Photos, Files, the share sheet and drag and drop works today.
iPad & iPhone
On-device AI on iPad
AI tools that work away from your Mac.
Today Magic on iPad (remove background, upscale, describe) runs on your paired Mac over your local network. Next, describing, editing by instruction and reading text happen on the iPad itself.
iPad & iPhone
Larger text and easier resize targets on iPhone
Easier to read and easier to hit on a small screen.
Text that follows your iPhone's text size setting, and bigger handles for resizing when a board is zoomed out.
Agents & integrations
One-click install for Claude Desktop, and a listing in MCP registries
Your agents reach your library with no setup.
Connecting OY.Surf to Claude Desktop still takes a few manual steps. Next, it installs in one click, and OY.Surf appears in the MCP registries where people find tools for their agents.
Being tried, may change shape
Studio
Animated captions, a narrator and dubbing
One recording, more audiences.
Captions that move, styled in your own type; a narrator that writes and voices a script for a silent take; and dubbing a walkthrough into other languages. None of it is scheduled yet.
Library, Lenses & Search
Smart collections by topic
Your library sorts itself as it grows.
Collections that fill themselves by topic from what the AI sees in your files, such as UI, type, 3D or moodboards, plus Needs review. Quick folders by type and date (Web clips among them), smart filters, projects and tags already work.
Library, Lenses & Search
Stacked versions with onion-skin in Compare
See exactly what changed between two versions.
Stack the versions of a design in the grid and lay them over each other in Compare with onion-skin. Today Compare shows versions side by side, or two of them with a before-and-after slider.
Library, Lenses & Search
Type, Source and Composition lenses
More answers about a reference without leaving it.
Three more ways to read a file: Type for typography clues, Source for where it came from, and Composition for how it’s laid out. Today the Design lens covers some of this, and the AI tab already shows the prompt embedded in ComfyUI, Automatic1111 and InvokeAI images.
iPad & iPhone
Widgets and lock-screen capture
Catch an idea before it's gone.
Home-screen widgets for quick capture, today's generations and recent boards, and a way to capture from the lock screen.
Ready, blocked by something outside the app
Library, Lenses & Search
Clipper in the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons
Save a whole page of references to your library in one click.
Waiting on store submission
The clipper isn’t in the browser stores yet: Chrome loads it unpacked, and Firefox loads it as a temporary add-on that goes away when Firefox restarts. The Safari version is signed. Its interface switches to English first. Once it’s listed, it installs and updates like any other extension.
Make
Animate, Choreograph and 360° Spin skills
Turn stills into moving shots on your Mac.
Waiting on an on-device video model that's good enough
Three skills that turn still images into motion. They're listed in Settings › Skills as coming soon, and arrive once a video model runs well enough on a Mac.
Make
Higgsfield images inside Create
More image models in the place you already generate.
Waiting on Higgsfield opening sign-in to other apps
Generate Higgsfield images from Create, next to the cloud generation you can already run on your own key. Higgsfield only lets a few approved apps sign in for now, so this switches on once it opens sign-in to apps like OY.Surf.
iPad & iPhone
Public beta for iPad and iPhone
Your boards on iPad and iPhone, synced with your Mac.
Waiting on opening the public beta
The iPad and iPhone companion is in private testing. When the public beta opens, anyone can install it from a link.
The last three releases
What it can’t do yet
Better to read it here than to find out after you’ve downloaded it.
- Macs with Apple Silicon only. There's no Windows or Intel version.
- Screen recording needs macOS 13 or later; the quick background cutout needs macOS 14.
- Call recordings can't tell apart several people on the call side.On the roadmap →
- Clipboard history records only while OY.Surf is open, and it skips items your password manager marks secret.
- PSD, AI, EPS, InDesign and Sketch files are indexed and searchable by name, but not previewed yet.
- The Doc lens reads only the first 30 pages of a PDF, one page at a time, so parsing is slow and pages after 30 are left out.On the roadmap →
- AI upscale starts from at most 1024 px on the long side, so results come out at about 4096 px.
- Some models are large: the image generator is about 10 GB and the instruction editor about 27 GB. They download on first use.
- On iPad and iPhone, the AI tools run on your paired Mac over your local network; there's no on-device AI there yet.On the roadmap →
- The iPad and iPhone Flow keyboard is one button, and transcription happens on your Mac.
- The clipper isn’t in the browser stores yet: Chrome loads it unpacked, and Firefox loads it as a temporary add-on that goes away when Firefox restarts. Its interface is in Russian, and in Chrome its full-page capture briefly shows a “started debugging this browser” bar.On the roadmap →
- Boards can't be shared as links from the Mac app. Export a board as a PNG instead.
